Dr. Hamaker is an internationally known researcher in the area of food science and nutrition from Purdue
University. He is considered as an authority in cereal science, prebiotics and dietary fiber research world
over. His research covers a broad spectrum of area which include carbohydrates and health, influence of
dietary fiber as prebotics on inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer, the importance of the
intestinal ermentation pattern, cereal starch and protein structure-function relationships, cereal
chemistry and processing. Dr. Hamaker is a distinguished chair professor and received numerous national
and international awards and honors.
